Earthen Vessels

Father John has just returned after a long stay in hospital where he was seriously ill and has undergone heart surgery.  It is early evening in late October, winter is just setting in.  Fr John is expecting a visit from a local reporter who is keen to involve him in a new initiative called ‘The Last Supper’ an initiative which seeks to explore, who local celebrities and dignitaries, would invite to one last supper if they had the opportunity to do so.  Given Father John’s recent near death experience he has reasoned with himself that this may be an opportune moment to reflect on this and has agreed to participate.
